Essential Emotions: The Place of Passion in a Feminist Network

Abstract

Drawing on a case study of the Hungarian Feminist Network, it is argued that emotions play a highly significant part in voluntary organizations, & that present academic approaches to emotions are unhelpful, both theoretically & practically. Specifically, the distinction between emotional work & emotional labor is unclear in nonprofit organizations using volunteers. Suggestions are offered for future research. 14 References.
