A Practical Guide to Service System Reorganization

Abstract

An understanding of services integration as an interorganizational relationship mechanism, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge to interagency relationships, is viewed as an essential administrative skill. The services integration framework is presented as is a step-by-step analysis of its application to human services delivery systems. The different ways in which integrative relationships form-formally, informally, at the individual & at the organizational levels-are discussed. Such relationships are affected by intraorganizational, interorganizational, & environmental elements. Outlined is a set of interorganizational planning principles that can be employed as tentative guidelines for those involved in the design & administration of such systems. 2 Figures, 1 Table. Modified HA.
