An Overview of the Literature on Community Development Corporations
Abstract
A review of literature dealing with community development corporations
(CDCs) in the US is presented, focusing on key activities in which
CDCs engage & on research regarding the progress of CDCs in
achieving their goals of affordable housing & social development.
The challenges faced by CD researchers are discussed, the history
& development of CDCs are explored, ways in which CDCs engage in
economic development are treated, & CDC involvement in
community-building is considered.
