Occupational social work and the new global economy.

Abstract

Increased international competition and the reduced competitiveness of American corporations will likely require major industrial and economic reorganization, which will dislocate a substantial percentage of the workforce. These economic changes will have a profound influence on occupational social work. The authors propose a framework for occupational social work that addresses the industrial crisis and the attendant economic reorganization. (Journal abstract.)
