The early stage in the creation of two self-help organizations: an exploratory study.

Abstract

This article focuses on two case studies cited in the literature. The studies describe early stages in the creation of two mental health self-help organizations. The author uses a seven-sequence model and three clusters of interrelated variables to analyze the groups' development. Then, blending organizational behavior and theory with the needs and characteristics of the membership of self-help groups, the author suggests propositions appropriate for further research and verification.
