A framework for selecting content for teaching about social administration

Abstract

Renewed interest in the administration of the social services has stimulated the search for appropriate content in training programs. The social agency paradigm is used to provide a conceptual scheme for the selection of such content. Twelve basic content areas derived from the scheme are outlined. Matters concerning the relationship of social administration to cognate disciplines and to internal processes of social policy planning and service delivery are discussed.
