An examination of the educational roles of social service agency personnel & faculty field instructors in the task of field work education pays particular attention to rationales for the use of task supervisors, ie, persons who do not have a master of social work degree, but who have an area of specialized expertise. A number of suggestions are made concerning the range & types of field practice assignments appropriate for students concentrating in administration & planning.
