Educational Preparation and Job Performance: Perceptions of Social Work Administrators

Abstract

Although there has been a dramatic increase in specialized social work administration programs during the last decade, little is known about how well they prepare social work administrators for social welfare agencies & organizations. An attempt is made to bridge that knowledge gap by comparing social work administrators with those who were trained to be clinicians. Data were collected in a 1978 questionnaire survey of U of Tennessee School of Social Work alumni (N = 485) to assess graduates' perceptions of their educational preparation & job performance. 2 Tables.
