Community Action And Research

Abstract

As a recent trend in voluntary action, community action has attracted increasing attention and study in the last few years. The relationship between research and action has been most productive in analyzing the nature of deprivation in the localities here action research has taken place and encouraging area analysis as a basis for work. Although a lot of evaluative case material has been produced, however, research has been less productive in producing theory for practice. It is suggested that the development and testing of systematic frameworks for assessing practice could develop another kind of fruitful relationship between research and action and a satisfying task for researchers.
