A Radical Shift from Bureaucracy to Strategic Management in Voluntary Organizations

Abstract

While the voluntary sector is far behind the business sector in applying principles of strategic management in its operations, voluntary organizations could benefit greatly from the use of such principles. Changes that would be necessary in the structure & procedures of third sector organizations before strategic management could be effectively practiced are identified. The performance changes that would probably flow from the use of strategic management in such organizations are described. 1 Table, 4 Figures, 91 References. HA.
