Can change be effectively managed?

Abstract

An apparent contradiction between one leadership theory emphasizing situational variables and two management theories postulating ideal management styles was analyzed in an empirical study dealing with the management of change in social welfare organizations. Results suggested that perhaps the key to the maintenance of a change-receptive organization lies in the recruitment of those individuals who are already receptive to change.
