Accreditation, Credentialing, and Accountability

Abstract

A discussion of the concepts of accreditation, credentialing, & accountability as they apply in the human service professions. Particular attention is given to certain interactional factors that make the accountability process ineffective. Accreditation & credentialing organizations could interact with service delivery agencies in ways that might lead to a dynamic exchange of ideas & more productive programming, rather than a search for defense & verification.
