An Examination of Volunteering among Members of a Fraternal Benefit Society Employing the ISSTAL and General Activity Models

Abstract

Three groups of members of a fraternal benefit society were analyzed in terms of their volunteering behaviors using D.H. Smith's (1972) ISSTAL and General Activity Models. The ISSTAL Model was found to be helpful in delineating relationships between variables. Overall, our findings supported the General Activity Model, with some exceptions.
