Local Development Agencies: Supporting Voluntary Action

Abstract

Questionnaire & interview data are used to examine the role of local development agencies (N not given) in developing & supporting local voluntary action. Findings show that these agencies are equipped with the potential to make a significant contribution to their communities, in particular by taking on a strategic role as catalysts for service development. Recommendations are made both for the management of these agencies & for the roles of central & local government in supporting them. 4 Tables, 21 References. Adapted from the source document.
