An Organization Design Model for Nonprofits

Abstract

This article proposes that designers of nonprofit public service organizations must get outside a two-dimensional paradigm of effectiveness and efficiency. The strength of the model is the integration of three parameters, showing how planning, productivity, and politics run through an organizational system and how these dimensions can be aligned for greater leverage. The model simplifies design and diagnosis, allowing managers to initiate change in an incremental and holistic way. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
