A comparative analysis of job satisfaction.

Abstract

The perceived job satisfaction of personnel in the volunteer sector was investigated. A comparative analysis with other selected occupational groups also was made. A job-satisfaction questionnaire that allowed the investigator to determine the perceived deficiency on eleven need items was used to obtain data. Average satisfaction scores for personnel in the volunteer sector were lower on almost every need when compared with other occupational groups. Reasons are presented that attempt to explain the results. (Journal abstract, edited.)
