Managing People for Enhanced Performance

Abstract

A model of basic human services management is presented that blends workers' personal & professional goals, job satisfaction, & work performance with an organization's performance goals. The literature on four core elements of personnel management -- job design, rewards & incentives, staff development, & performance evaluation -- is reviewed, & some variables that differentiate human services management from other management situations are identified. 4 Figures, 27 References.
