The Female Administrator: Who Is She?

Abstract

Ms in social agencies often find it difficult to relate to a F administrator & therefore resort to casting her into previously learned roles: traditional family roles; sexual roles; or rival roles. When a F is cast in one of these roles, her effectiveness as an administrator is hampered. The above roles are described, & case study examples of each are given. The behavioral dynamics involved are discussed, & suggestions are offered to help the F administrator & her M colleagues avoid these stereotypes.
