Strategies for success: women in social service administration

Abstract

Specific strategies through which administrators can bring women into social service management are described. Although these strategies are described as individual or organizational, it is only by using a combination of strategies that administrators can realistically promote equal opportunity for women. Without such advancement, the responsiveness of social welfare institutions to the interests and concerns of female practitioners will be impeded. Through these approaches, women will have more opportunity to move into administrative positions with the kind of expertise and opportunity for advancement to which the profession of social work is committed.
