Agency support for evaluating the outcomes of social work services.

Abstract

Given current levels of funding for social services, administrators need to be concerned with documenting outcomes of agency services. Direct service practitioners have been encouraged to evaluate their practice but rarely receive support from their agencies to do so. The results of practitioners' single-case evaluations, however, could help agencies meet their accountability requirements and could enhance other program planning and evaluation efforts. Ways in which agencies can facilitate case-specific outcome evaluation are described. (Journal abstract, edited.)
